A New School Year Begins

Backpack packed the night before. Shoes lined up by the door. A kid who insists he isn’t nervous — and mostly means it.

We got the obligatory photo on the front step, the one we’ll compare against last year’s and be amazed all over again at how much taller he’s gotten.

“I’ve got this, Dad.”

He does. Onward to a new year.
